BIG BOY EDIT 10:16 AM SUNDAY FEBRUARY 26: CHANGED MY PICK FOR VISUAL EFFECTS BECAUSE WOW WAS I FORGETTING A THING.
Hey guys the Oscars are TOMORROW so TODAY I am releasing my predictions.

A few notes I want to leave you with first and foremost:
I did not see I Am Not Your Negro. Not out of any protest or stupid bullshit or anything. I think it looks excellent. I just couldn’t get to any theaters playing it in time.
I did not see My Life as a Zucchini because it’s not playing anywhere near me.
I won’t be predicting any of the short films because they’re just super hard to find anywhere.

This year is no different. Next year, despite proposed changes at the Academy, probably will still be no different. The Academy loves to ignore more independent movies in favor of the more high-profile movies that most people still haven’t heard of. Not a single person of color has been nominated for an acting Oscar (although one of them PLAYED a Native American this year! uh… oh jeez) and it has left audiences wondering: Why is #OscarSoWhite? (Lucifer forgive me I used a “hashtag.”) With all of the potential for people of color to be nominated this year, we are, once again, asking the same questions of the Academy.

Oh man guys. Here we are. We’re finally at the Oscars. I have been waiting all year for this. I have to say, I love the Oscars. I know they have their issues (lack of ethnic diversity, ignorance of more independent films, THE LEGO MOVIE ugh), but I am overall pretty satisfied with the crop of nominations this year.
