Hello dear readers, I apologize for my lack of weekend posts, but not to worry I have them all here in one, bite-sized, chewable package. The first movie I am doing is V/H/S: Viral, which is an anthology so each movie I will talk about separately.
Hello today I’m focusing on horror movies directed by women. As you MAY know, female directors are few and far between in EVERY genre. Horror is no exception. However, there are some solid entries in horror by women. The obvious example is American Psycho, directed by Mary Harron (who also did The Moth Diaries but I didn’t see that and I have heard some pretty bad things about it). American Psycho is one of my favorite movies of all-time, and it’s gory and hilarious and captures the satirical aspect of the book extremely well.
Hello here it is! My super special complete franchise post! If you haven’t guessed by the image above, I am doing the Child’s Play series (or the Chucky series, depending on who you ask). Let me start off by saying I greatly enjoyed every entry in this franchise. They are very funny, intelligent slasher movies. To get such a goofy-looking doll to strike fear into the hearts of children everywhere, you absolutely have to craft an intelligent movie. And Chucky is a hilarious psychopath, not unlike Freddy Kreuger or the Deadites from the Evil Dead series.
Wow. Day 20. I have been KEEPING UP lately. I just got back from seeing The Judge and it was EXCELLENT. That rotten tomatoes score is BULL PUCKEY. PUCKY. WHATEVER. It really was a fantastic movie. Anyway onto the horror. I have one film left in my mystery franchise so expect that post SOME TIME TOMORROW!
Hello it is day 19 and The Walking Dead was AWESOME.
But that is not why we’re here.
Also PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
AMC is running an all-day Friday the 13th marathon tomorrow starting at 9am Eastern time. BE THERE! It might be my mystery franchise next year! They aren’t good movies but they’re all just so wonderful. Also one of the more surprisingly solid horror remakes!
Anyway let’s begin
